Theft from the left..

So today I went out to lunch with a bunch of my fellow worker guys... we went to Mountain Mike's... two years ago I was the delivery driver for that place... and so I should get a discount on food right? Maybe not... but today I walked up to the cashier and placed my order.. i asked her "Can I get the "I used to work here discount?"".. she didnt say anything and then charged me full price... BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! after feeling rejected I went back to my table... it wasnt until 20 minutes after placing my order that i realized that I hadnt paid!! I asked one of my colleagues if i had paid and they gave me a blatant "No! Why did you do that?" AAAHHH!!! I then proceeded to track down the cashier and asked her if I had paid and she told me that I hadnt... and was angry about it too... I quickly paid the cashier and returned to my seat embarrased... even though my colleagues thought I could have got away with it... lesson learned...

GI JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOEEEEE!!!

Tuesday is no Longer A Blues Day

So after weeks of slaving away, inhaling insulation, fighting the heat at work, and being slightly fed-up with my job, I finally caught a break today. Let me start over... I work for the Reedley School District. I work for the Tech Department and am in charge of whatever my boss tells me to do. Up to this point I have been busy installing projectors at different schools in the district and am quite tired of ladder and maintenance work. Alright, back to my blog. I got to work on 30 computers in an air conditioned room BY MYSELF today! I did a lot of work and even finished two crossword puzzles on my break! It was the greatest work day in a long time. There are a few characters at work that make my job a little frustrating and being able to work by myself today made me happy. I'm sad that these days are one in a million though. I'm probably going to have to go back to installing projectors and fighting the heat tomorrow. I still love my job.

Sleep

Each morning my alarm goes off at 6:55. I hit the snooze button twice and then get out of bed around 7:20. I stumble to the bathroom where I look in the mirror and gasp at how horrendous my hair looks, or how awesome my abs look that morning. I get in the shower, do my thing as I wake up and then go off to work after enjoying a quick breakfast of either cereal or yogurt. As I drive myself to work I think to myself, "I need to take a nap today, I''m exhausted!" The funny thing about that though, is that when I get home from work I never take that nap I so desperately needed earlier that morning. It's not that I don't have the time, I just do not feel the need to take a nap after getting home. This cycle happens pretty much every morning Monday through Friday. I know that other people have this problem but I just think that this is interesting. I don't actually believe that I need a nap, I just think that when I first wake up my mind is telling me to go back to sleep and so I tell myself that I need a nap. I'm not much of a nap person anyway, so I don't think I will ever change my mind about afternoon naps.

Pride

I find it interesting how as we grow up we find pride in different things. When you are a child you learn how to be potty trained,

when you are 5 you learn how to ride a 2-wheeler (9 years old for some people :) )

at 18 you graduate, (hopefully)

As we grow older we continue to be proud of different things in our life. I recently asked a friend about what they have been proud of most recently. They said that they are proud to be a grandparent. I find this interesting because so often we are proud of things that we accomplish, but where exactly do we begin to be proud of things other people to do that directly affects us? I'm proud of my brother for dumping some of the loser girlfriends he has had in the past, I'm proud of my mother for raising all boys, etc. I think pride is a very conditional thing. I enjoy pride in children the most because they are so vocal about it. The next time you are hanging out with a 4 year old ask them if they can ride a bike, or swim, or just ask them what they are proud of. Then go and ask a junior higher... awkard!!!

Mello Hello

Hey blog! Long time no see! OK, so I've never met you before... but I don't really think you have a choice. Today I was walking on my lawn after work and I discovered a robin egg. This got me to thinking about how mother birds push the younglings out of the nest whether they are ready or not. I think at the rate my life is going my mother is never going to push me out of the nest. That is why I'm glad to be a human, able to leap from the nest myself. Now if I could only work on Momma Bird and her persistant phone calls. I want to get out of here, but it's hard to think about how I would survive on my own. She is a clingy mother, but doesnt seem to know how to discipline. Let's just say that the raging parties my brother threw last year went unpunished. It is hard to tell parents how to be good parents though. I'm not saying my parents are horrible, it just seems like they have stopped caring about discipline and rules. I love them dearly. I really look forward to moving out and being with other people. I'm ready to jump out of the nest!
